Dunaskin Doon Band
Musical Director
Cheltenham Fundraising:
President's 11 Mile Sponsored Walk
Unfortunately our President, Angus
Cochrane, missed the band's first
rehearsal in 1869 due to having
homework!?! - he hasn't missed many
more rehearsals since then (although
he does have a few holidays every
year!) ... in fact he recently walked 11
miles to boost the coffers in the band's
fund for the National Championships.

Just Giving - Text Donation
I must firstly begin with a massive
thank you, on behalf of all our
members, to everyone that has
donated to our Cheltenahm Fund - the
support received has been fantastic.
One of the schemes that our
treasurer (and soprano cornet), Hugh
Scullion, came up with was to have a
Just Giving page, allowing for text
message donations. Due to the
wonders of social media this page/text
number has been shared ... and
shared ... and shared !! and so far has
raised a total of £180. If you happen to
have any spare pennies please text
'DDSB14 £1,2,3,4,5 or 10' to
eg. DDSB14 £2 to 70070
Thank you!
Chris Bradley began playing trumpet at the age of 12 with Jimmy Hillis.

He joined Clydebank Burgh Band on 3rd cornet and soon got the bug for banding. Chris studied trumpet at the RSAMD from 1981 until 1984 and joined Whitburn Band on Flugel Horn in 1984. During his studies he won the prestigious Governorís Recital Prize for Brass and was featured as a soloist with National Youth Orchestra of Scotland in 1984, playing the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto.

Chris completed his studies with a postgraduate year at Goldsmithís College, obtaining a high merit diploma in Orchestral Studies.

Chris entered the music profession in 1985 playing with Scotlandís orchestras, however despite his heavy schedule, he never broke his ties with Whitburn. He has since played on every seat in the cornet section, and currently holds the principal cornet seat. Chris has won the prestigious Terris Medal for the best cornet player at the Scottish Championships in 2008, 2010 and 2011.

As well as conducting Dunaskin Doon, Chris also teaches brass in South Lanarkshire schools. Chris is a very experienced Musical Director having conducted bands all over Scotland. Some of his previous bands are Renfrew, Barrhead, Unison Kinneil and St. Ronans to name a few.

The band are looking forward to a more settled period ahead under Chris' leadership. The band are looking forward to starting work on the upcoming Nationals test piece and putting together a programme for Land O' Burns.
